RISDON BROOK DAM

Public BBQ

Risdon Brook Park is a tranquil and picturesque location, with sweeping views of Mt. Wellington on a clear day. It offers an excellent space for various outdoor activities, including jogging, hiking, cycling, and even model yacht sailing. The park features numerous tracks, some of which can be challenging due to their steepness. However, they offer rewarding views of the surrounding bushland and reservoir. Visitors may spot wallabies, echidnas, and cockatoos among other native wildlife, but are advised to be cautious of snakes in warmer months. The park also boasts a playground and wheelchair-friendly fishing spots, adding to its family-friendly appeal. The dam is a particularly popular spot for a leisurely walk, and the Mt. Direction track starts here too. The park's facilities are commendably clean and well-maintained, including the toilets and picnic amenities. It offers a serene retreat close to the city, making it a favorite among locals.
